Trying connect bytelogger to ms45.1 e60 m54. I am using a bimmer geeks cable, latency set to 1, correct com port, triple checked the driver version, and car is running the compatible hw/sw version.
I read on the bytetuner with this specific car a wire needs to be ran from the obd to the dme. Is this required with bytelogger?
I don’t have bytetuner yet. Is it a requirement for bytelogger?
Thanks.
No response from dme.

Re: No response from dme.
Most likely, yes, this will be required for ByteLogger. This is because when we built ByteLogger to support MS45.1, we only considered the communication protocol used by E46.
Our early versions of ByteTuner were the same which is what the instructions you found were referring to on that forum post. However, the current version of ByteTuner also supports the protocol used by E60 which means this hack isn't required. Unfortunately, we haven't updated ByteLogger in a really long time and don't intend to at this point as it's just a free tool we offer to give customers a taste of what they can get with ByteTuner.

Thanks. I will give that a try and report back.
