MSS54 knock threshold

Post by jhec23 »

What is the best way to raise or disable the knock to force the dme to run a specific timing. Trying to diagnose a low timing at WOT and figure out if the dme is pulling it because of knock detection. Thanks!

We haven't tried to disable knock on MSS54, but you could try modifying the two "Knock - Ignition retard" parameters under the Knock category in ByteTuner. Another idea is to modify the uncategorized parameters called "K_KR_TMOT_MIN" or "KL_KR_RF_MIN".

Did you ever get this sorted? I'm having a similar issue where I'm hitting a max of 28 degrees of timing on the top end on all cylinders except 5 and 6 which are maxing out at 22. I'm commanding 31 degrees at 7000rpm+ but it won't ever get close to that. I've performed a compression test and all cylinders are even. I'm starting to believe my issue might be with the knock sensors themselves. Running 93 octane fuel, AFRs are 12.8 at WOT.
